SCA NSW Environmental, Social and Community Impact Award 2024

Strata Plus was honoured to receive the Environmental, Social, and Community Impact Award for the second year in a row, recognising our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility in the strata management sector.

Modern Slavery

Our efforts to combat modern slavery risks in our supply chain were acknowledged with an award, particularly for our focus on high-risk sectors such as cleaning and security services. We took proactive steps by introducing a Voluntary Modern Slavery Statement, which outlines our comprehensive approach to mitigating these risks. This approach includes:

  1. Conducting thorough risk assessments
  2. Providing staff training through the Supply Chain School
  3. Implementing rigorous contractor pre-qualification processes

These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to several UN Sustainable Development Goals:

  • Goal 8.7: Eradicating forced labour and child labour
  • Goal 16.2: Protecting individuals from exploitation
  • Goal 5.2: Eliminating all forms of violence and exploitation

Our proactive stance on this critical issue reflects our dedication to ethical business practices and human rights protection throughout our supply chain.

Sustainability

We’ve supported sustainable communities proactively by providing educational resources, expert webinars, and assistance in drafting motions for sustainability initiatives. Our collaborations with councils, NABERS, Sydney Water, and private consultants have facilitated our clients’ access to information, funding, and grants.

The impact of our efforts is evident in the increased uptake of sustainability measures, such as energy and water efficiency upgrades and lighting improvements, among the strata communities we manage.

Our ‘paperless’ campaign for levies and notices has already seen more than 2000 clients switch to digital communications since January 2024, supporting cost reduction and environmental sustainability.

Reconciliation

In addition to these initiatives, we’ve made significant strides in social responsibility. We’ve implemented our second Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), partnering with local Aboriginal community organisations to provide support and resources. Strata + was the recipient of last year’s Environmental, Social, and Community Impact Award in recognition of being the first strata agency that had a Reconciliation Action Plan endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.

We believe our comprehensive approach to strata management, encompassing ethical practices, sustainability, and community engagement, sets a new standard for the industry.

We’re proud to reinforce our position as a forward-thinking and socially conscious strata management company, and we remain dedicated to creating positive change in our industry and communities.

Strata Plus has received notable recognition in the industry this year. In addition to winning the Environmental, Social and Community Impact Award, our Senior Strata Manager, Faye Tang was named Senior Strata Community Manager of the Year 2024, while our Strata Manager, Tammy Dunn secured the title of Strata Community Manager of the Year 2024. Furthermore, our company was a finalist for the Large Business Award.

These accolades underscore our team’s commitment to excellence across various aspects of strata management, from environmental and social responsibilities to outstanding individual performance and overall business operations.
